Countdown to the Grand Finale
Tuesday February 26,  2008. Nathan Macdonald

Brisbane International Speedway welcomes the 2007/2008 G&W Racing Queensland Modified Production Series this Saturday night March 1st.  After five hotly contested rounds, it all comes down to this - The Grand Finale, Round 6, thirty-four drivers all vying for a shot at winning a round of this prestigious series.

With the generous support of Graham and Wendy Erhart and Peter Lack of G&W Racing, the 2007/2008 Modified Production Series continues to go from strength to strength, with fields stretching from 30 to 45 cars attending each round.

The top three positions in the point score are filled by current National and State Champions.  National Champion Todd Doyle has shown why he is Australia's best, currently sitting atop the points ladder,  comfortably 87 points clear of Queensland Champion Aidan Raymont and trailing by another eleven points is newly crowned New South Wales champion Steve Price.  Doyle has won three out of five feature races thus far in the series, while other wins went to Aidan Raymont and Darran White.

Mark Raymont and Greg Raymont sit in fourth and fifth respectively, while Shane Macdonald holds onto sixth, followed by Gary Maroske, Travis Barron, Matt Swarbrooke and Steven Zahl.  All drivers will need to be on their toes at the very tight and very fast Brisbane International Speedway (BIS), if they are to advance forward in the rankings.

Look out for some hot shots on the night amongst the series regulars, that including former National Champion in Modified Production Jason Jolley, driving his Holden VY Commodore, also current Super Sedan ace and former Queensland Champion in Modified Production Steve Jordan is back for a guest appearance, driving a Ford XF Falcon.  The Lismore flyer Greg Worling will also be looking for a win, after taking out a win at BIS earlier in the year.

Make sure your there as the best in Australia bring you some action packed tin-top sedan action, Speedway style!

All fans will be welcome back in the pits for the presentation after the racing has been completed.  Also check out the official website for the series - www.qldmodifiedproduction.com
